Itay Tiran

Itay Tiran originally studied piano at the Petach Tivka Municipal Conservatory and completed his studies at the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts. Then, in 1999, he began studying drama at the Beit Zvi Acting School near Tel Aviv. While still a student there he was a member of the ensemble at the Cameri Theater in Tel Aviv, where he won an Israeli Theatre Prize, the Best Actor Award, for his role in Hamlet. After regular appearances in Israeli television series he then featured in a number of films including "Forgivness", "Beaufort" (Silver Lion at the 2007 Venice Film Festival and nomination for a 2008 Academy Award as Best Foreign Language Film) and "Lebanon" (Samuel Maoz Golden Lion in Venice, 2009), where he takes one of the leading roles.
